Jambo (hello) from Kenya!
If you have ever traveled across the world you know that even if you sleep the entire plane ride(s), some how your body can still be exhausted. That is how we are all feeling. I think I slept for almost 12 hours between our two flights, and could still use more sleep. Thank Jesus for coffee and tea!
Last night we stayed at a hotel near the airport since we landed close to midnight, and this morning we drove to where we will be staying the rest of the week. The 2nd location is much closer to the school giving us the opportunity to spend as much time as possible with the kiddos. To top it all off, Kenya is beautiful! It is winter time here in Embu, so the countless different trees, and plants are thriving and incredible different shades of green.
Tonight is our "calm before the storm" so we finalized details for the week and are enjoying a few moments of rest before we start our week off strong in the morning. We have shared many stories of our individual travel experiences and how through any trip — mission trip, business trip, or vacation, God reveals himself in ways we would never imagine. God had already revealed himself through our safe and smooth arrival to Embu, and the wonderful moments and conversations we have been having along the way.
As we continue our journey please keep our children in your prayers. We pray relentlessly that God would continue to provide for the children of Imani, and that each child would see how loved they are by their Heavenly Father. If we accomplish nothing else on this trip, yet we accomplish sharing Jesus with the children -- our trip will be worth it 1000 times over.
I can't wait to check back in and share all of the cute stories about our kids tomorrow -- thanks for keeping up with our trip!
